Preview and still frame tips

Use the capture button to freeze a frame, then inspect focus, exposure, and color in the thumbnail. Repeat after adjusting lighting or resolution.

• Real-time preview rendered with native WebRTC streams. • Device dropdown that lists every available webcam, including virtual sources. • Instant readout of negotiated resolution and frame rate. • Snapshot utility for comparing before/after adjustments.
• Works with USB, HDMI capture cards, and built-in webcams. • Captures PNG frames locally without uploading any media. • Quick status log to debug blocked permissions or missing devices. • Privacy-first: no data leaves the browser tab.
Q: Why is the preview mirrored? A: Some cameras mirror the preview for convenience. The captured frame is saved as-is and is not flipped by the tool. Q: The preview is black / won’t start—what should I check? A: Confirm browser permission, close other apps using the camera (Zoom/Teams), and reselect the device, then start preview again. Q: Can I test multiple webcams? A: Yes. Switch the dropdown and click “Start preview” again—each device renegotiates its stream. Q: Why is the resolution/FPS different from what I requested? A: The browser negotiates with the device. Some webcams cap FPS at higher resolutions or under low light. Q: Does the tool record video? A: No. Streams stay in memory only for the live preview and optional snapshot. Q: Is anything uploaded? A: No. Captures are created locally in your browser.
